Marys – Nov 6 (Special) Mr. and Mrs. Casper
Limbert, who were married in St. Marys in 1860,
celebrated their sixty-sixth wedding anniversary
recently in Ontario, Calif., where they have lived
for the last 20 years. Mr. Limbert was
82 years old last September 27 and Mrs. Limbert
87 last June 12,
Mr. Limbert enlisted
in the Union army with the Cincinnati Fifth Ohio
battery shortly after his marriage and survived the
northern cause for three years. He took part in
eight major battles. Mrs. Limbert, who
lent her aid to the Northern Army by making shirts
for the soldiers recalls that of the fifty-cent
weekly allotments for soldier's wives she received
only two."
