Carroll County was formed by the Legislature during the
session of 1832-33, being made up of portions of the old Counties of
Stark, Harrison, Jefferson, Tuscarawas and Columbiana. It was
appropriately named in honor of Charles
Carroll

Carroll County is a county located in the state of
Ohio. As of 2000, the population was 28,836.
Its county seat is Carrollton.
It is named for Charles Carroll of Carrollton, the last surviving signer of
the Declaration of Independence.
