VERONA & BALTIMORE
Population about 300
A part of the village is situated in
Harrison township. Preble county, and part in Montgomery
county. The Preble county portion is called Verona, and
contains about twice as many inhabitants, as the part "beyond
the line," which is called Baltimore. The Post-office is
named West Baltimore, and is situated in the Montgomery part of
the town. Verona was founded by Jacob Karr, Leasure &
Reed, and Robert Calhoun. Acknowledgment of
plat, June 21, 1853. Addition by Lydia Moore, William
Corwin and others, Mar. 3, 1873. An addition was made
by D. Werts, J. D. Mills and L. Cassell.
