WEST ALEXANDRIA.
Population, Last Census, 459

     A flourishing post village, situated on the boundary between Lanier and Twin township, about five miles east of Eaton, on the turnpike leading to Dayton.  It is situated in one of the most fertile regions of the county, and Twin creek, on the east, furnishes good water power.  Founded by Henry Keisling and William Alexander.  The town plat represented forty lots, and was acknowledged, Aug. 31, 1818, before Isaac Stephen, J. P.  Additions by J. Winters, 1856; Sowers and Gates, 1863; Geo. Sowers, 1870; Geo. Zitzer, 1870; John Bares, 1871; Geo Sowers, 1871; Geo. Sowers, 1873; John Zitzer, second addition, 1874.
