Source: Plain Dealer (Cleveland, OH) Page: 1 Dated: Tuesday, Sep. 20, 1887. TIFFIN, O., Sept. 19. - (Special) - A. J. Danner, who euchred a Fostoria farmer named Stultz out of $61.75 through the medium of a forged orde`r, was arrested here by Marshal HAmmer of this city today and was taken to Fostoria for trial this evening. He is well known here and has heretofore borne a good reputation. The case of D. Ireland, who was accused of attempt to commit a criminal assault on Mr. Myers at Melmore, did not come to trial as the prosecuting witnesses failed to appear. Source: Plain Dealer - Cleveland, Ohio Dated: July 15, 1892 Charged with Assault. Tiffin, July 14, (Special) - A warrant was sworn out in Justice Rex's court today charging eighteen-year old William Kershner with outraging five year old Anna Schlereth, daughter of a laboring man. Kershner was jailed in default of $500 bail. He is a cigarmaker and an orphan. The crime, it is alleged by the girl's parents, was committed in an abandoned cemetery into which the child was enticed by gifts of candy. (Found at Genealogy Bank - Transcribed by Sharon Wick) |
