     E. F. Bingham, Esq., then read and offered for adoption the following resolutions which were unanimously adopted:
Resolved.  That the present administration, by its reckless expenditure of the people's money, by its want of efficiency and order in its various departments, by its tamely submitting to the multitude of indignities which have been heaped upon our citizens, our commerce and our rights by foreign powers, has furnished additional evidence of what was before a "fixed fact," that modern whiggery with federal principles are utterly incapable of, and unworthy of govern a free, intelligent and republican people.
Resolved.  That when a fair issue has been joined between the Democratic and whig parties upon principles, and that issue fairly presented to the American people, the Democracy have ever been triumphant; and that whenever the whig, alias the federal party, have been successful it has been by covertly concealing their real principles and designs, and feloniously "stealing Democratic thunder" for electioneering purposes; that we regard the present position of the whig party in nominating a military hero for the Presidency, without experience as a statesman, and who, upon high whig authority, is admittedly "weakness in all he says or does in reference to the Presidency;" who suffers his pen "to dim the glory of his sword;" in professing totally to abandon as "obsolete" all their former convictions" with reference to measures, including national bank, bankrupt law, et id omne genus, also inclusive of the "known incidents" in the "long life" of their candidate indicates an intention to practice the same frauds as were so notoriously palmed upon teh Ameican people in '40 and '48.
Resolved, That being for-warned, we will be fore-armed - that having the most abiding confidence in the long and well-tried ability and patriotism of Franklin Pierce and William R. King, we will use every effort, in an honorable way, to secure their election, believing that thereby we will restore the administration of the general government to its pristine purity, and secure for our nation honor and respect abroad as well as happiness and prosperity for our people at home.
On motion, the following persons were elected delegates to attend the Congressional Convention to be held in Logan on the 17th inst.: B. P. Hewitt, E. F. Bingham, Simon Dolen, John Clark, Joseph Maee, J. A. Walden, John Swepston, D. D. T. Hard and James Malone.
