ARNOLD A. INGRAM, was born in
Allegheny county, Pennsylvania, in 1843, and came to Wooster in
1866. He read law with the late Hon. John McSweeney,
at tended the Cincinnati Law College from which he graduated and was
admitted to the Ohio bar. In 1861 he entered the military
service of the United States and served four months in Company D.,
169th Regiment O. N. G. In 1885 he was elected City Solicitor of
Wooster on the Republican ticket. He was quiet and unassuming
and ambitious to become a good lawyer. Modesty was one of his
characteristics and his manners, which are "the garments of
character" were unostentatious and natural.
