ROBINSON, John T., committed suicide in Boston a few days since.

ROCHESTER, Col. Nathaniel, died May 27, at Rochester, N. Y.  He was born in Westmoreland Co., Va., Feb. 21, 1732.  At the age of 20, he commenced a mercantile career with Col. John Hamilton, who afterwards held the consulate of the British Government, in the middle states.  At the age of 28, he was called to the Committee of Safety for Orange Co.  In Aug., 1775 he became a member of the Provincial Convention of N. C.  From this convention his first commission as a Major of Militia emanated.  He was dispatched to Fayetteville to overtake the British Gen. McDONALD, but he had left before he arrived.  With 500 of his Scotch recruits, after a march of 20 miles, he met and captured the whole, but because of scarcity of provisions, are leased all but 50 officers.  In 1776 he was again a member of the Convention of Halifax, and by that body was promoted to the rank of Colonel for the N. C. line and appointed commissary general of military stores and clothing.  His health failing, resigned his commission.   After the war, he again commenced the mercantile business, first at Philadelphia then at Hagerstown, Md.  At Hagerstown, he was made postmaster, then was nominated one of the Judges of Washington Co., then was made Sheriff and became President of the Hagerstown Bank.  Afterwards, he moved to Rochester N. Y.

SMITH, Capt. Augustine, age about 76, died in Fauquier Co., a., Nov. 14.  During the Revolution, he was in Green's campaign in the Carolinas.

SMITH, Dr. Clement, died Dec. 10, in P. G. Co., Md., in the 75th year of his age.  He was a native of Calvert Co., Md.  During the Revolution, he chose the sea for his theatre of operation; embarked in one of our vessels but was captured and taken to England.  After the war, he returned home.

SMITH, Mrs., relict of Maj. Nathaniel SMITH, who died in the war of the Revolution at Whetstone Point, near Ft. McHenry, died in this city Nov. 14, and the 82nd year of her age.  She was one of the ladies of Baltimore who helped make up clothing for the troops under Lafayette when they were encamped at Baltimore on their way to Va.

SWAN, John, died in Paris, March 18.  Before he was 22, he became a merchant, a politician, a Whig, a soldier, and an author.  He had published a work against the slave trade; had helped to destroy the tea in Boston Harbor; accompanied Gen. Warren up on Bunker Hill, as his aid, June 17, 1775.  In 1787 he went to France, but returned to America in 1795.  In July, 1798, he returned to Europe.

THOMSON, Mrs. Mary, only sister of Charles THOMSON, Secretary of Congress during the Revolution, died at Newark, Delaware, Sept. 10, age 93.  She was left in Ireland, an infant, at the time her father and brothers left Ireland.  The father died on the passage.  When she grew up, she joined her brothers in America.

TILTON, Daniel, possibly about 60 years old, died at Leesburg, Loudoun Co., Va., Dec. 10, 1830.  He came to Leesburg about 7 or 8 mos. ago, where he became an instructor of youth.  He left among his papers a commission signed by President ADAMS in 1798, appointing him a Judge of the Federal Court in the Mississippi Territory.  At one period he held a commission as Captain in the U. S. Army.  About 1810 to 1815 he resided in Philadelphia.

VAN COURTLANDT, Gen. Philip, died on North River, Nov. 12, age 82.  In the Fall of 1777, he raised a large regt. in N. Y. and N. J., and took command of it; was in the battles of Still-water & Bemis Heights, and contined in service during the whole of the Revolution.  In 1793 he was sent to Congress.

WESTON, Rev. John E., Pastor of the Baptist Church at Lechnere Point, was downed at Salem, Mass., July 9.

WHITE, Robert, age 72 years, died in Winchester, Va., Mar. 9.  The early or latter part of March or the beginning of April, 1775, still a boy at school, and 16 years of age, he joined one of the first volunteer corps raised, and in June marched to Boston,.  By the time he reached the age of 17, he had risen to the rank of Lieutenant.  On June 28, 1777, while engaged in a skirmish at the short Hills, in Jersey, he was wounded.  Though permanently lamed, in the Spring of 1779, he again joined the army.  In Dec. 1783, he commenced the practice of law.  In Dec., 1793 he accepted the office of Judge of the General Court of Va.

WILLIAMS, Col. Daniel, age 81, died in Dickson Co., Tenn. He served during the whole of the Revolution.  After the war, he settled in Sampson Co., N. C., and removed from there 17 or 18 years ago to Tenn.
