H. C. Hickox
HENRY C. HICKOX, carpenter, farmer and school teacher, was ushered into the world on the 26th day of July, 1856, in West Chester, Tuscarawas county, Ohio.  When fourteen years of age our subject's parents moved to Mecca township, where he has since made his home.  Being of an educational turn of mind he early turned his attention to teaching, which occupation he followed winters for twenty-three years continuously.  When a boy Mr. H. began learning the carpenter trade of his father, and has followed that business ever since in addition to carrying on his farm on the west township line of Mecca.  Sept. 8, 1880, our subject was married to Miss Nancy Lechleitner, of Champion, O.  First children have been born to this union.  Mr. H. is a republican, and a member of I. O. O. F.  In the three important and useful occupations in which our subject has been engaged, he has shown marked ability and won a deserved reputation for uprightness and fidelity.

Wm. D. Hickox
WILLIAM D. HICKOX, an extensive farmer, was born in Columbiana county, Sept. 30, 1839.  When he was about nine years old his parents moved to Bristol, where he lived until 1861, when he enlisted in Co. D of the 2nd Ohio Cavalry, with which he served until the close of the war, being mustered out in 1865.  Mr. Hickox has an enviable war record.  He was taken prisoner at Ashland Station, Va., and spent six months in Libby, Andersonville, Savannah, and Milan prisons, when he was exchanged.  After the war he lived in Bristol, then in Bloomfield, afterward moving to his present home in Farmington.  Oct. 23, 1866, he was married to Harriet M. Cummins, and this union was blessed with four children.  He has served the township as trustee and as real estate assessor.  In 1868 he joined Rural Lodge, F. & A. M., of Bloomfield.
