G. S. Lewis
GEO. S. LEWIS, of West Farmington, is a well known and extensive stock and wool buyer, who was born in Sheridan township, Geauga county, May 30, 1836, and came to Trumbull county with his parents when six months old, where he remained until 1860, when he went to California and engaged in mining for seven years.  He then returned to Ohio, and after his marriage Feb. 18, 1888, he settled on the old homestead in Farmington township, where he continued to reside till 1898, when he moved to the village.  His wife, nee Mattie Bower, was born in Mesopotamia, Oct. 7, 1854, the daughter of Jacob and Nancy Evans Bower.  Her father was a native of Pennsylvania, and of German descent.  Mr. L. is a republican, and cast his first vote for Lincoln:  He is not a politician, but gives his entire time and energies to the conduct of his numerous business interests.

Jno. Lewis
JOHN LEWIS, roller in the mills at Girard, is a native of Wales, where he was born Nov. 27, 1854.  Our subject's father first emigrated to America and was followed by his wife and four children when John was about nine years old.  Their first home was in Pottsville, Pa., and from there they moved to Mineral Ridge, later to Niles and in 1874 our subject went to Sharon, Pa., where he was in the mill business till 1885, coming thence to Girard, where he since resided.  July 17, 1880, Mr. Lewis married Miss Margaret Ellen Jones, also a native of Wales.  Mrs. L. Came to this country in 1865.  Six children have blessed this union.  Mr. L. is a member of Sharon Lodge No. 398, K. of P., Mahoning Lodge No. 394, F. & A. M.; also Amalgamated Association of Iron and Steel Workers.  He is a republican in politics and was a member of the Girard council for three years.

R. K. Lewis


Mrs. R. K. Lewis

ROLAND K. LEWIS, is one of the well known, successful farmers, and business men of Trumbull county.  He has been a resident of Farmington since his birth, June 5, 1841.  He is at present a resident of West Farmington village, and he ever stands ready to assist in everything which is for the best interest of the community.  Fraternally he is a member of the K. of P. Lodge of West Farmington.  Miss Adelma Spencer became the wife of our subject Nov. 1, 1865.  She was born in this township Sept. 27, 1843, and is the daughter of Selden and Caroline Lyman Spencer.  They were natives of Massachusetts, the former born Aug. 17, 1811, and the latter Oct. 5, 1810.  Mr. and Mrs. L. are the parents of three children, two of whom are living.  Mr. Lewis is engaged extensively in farming and stock raising, being the owner of about 1,400 acres of land, most of which is in Farmington township.  R. K. Lewis' addition to West Warren is a valuable piec of property in Warren city.  As a business man he ranks high in the county.

Hermen Love & wife
HERMEN LOVE is one of Mecca township's most successful farmers and stock raisers.  The Love family resides in a model country home, and the general appearance of the farm indicates thrift, pride and prosperity.  In Mahoning township, Lawrence county, Pa., Jan. 6, 1837, a son, Hermen Love, was born to James and Eliza Small Love who since the fall of 1865 has lived in Mecca township.  He married Emma A. Mason Nov. 24, 1868.  Two sons, James N. and Earl H., are the result of this union.  Mrs. Love was born near her present home, Aug. 29, 1848, and was the daughter of Noble and Lora P. Brown Mason.  In politics Mr. Love is an ardent republican.  As a business man he is wide awake, and makes a success of whatever he undertakes.
