Anna M. Jones
GOMER,
Jan. 4—Miss Anna M. Jones, 71, died at her home two and
one-half miles west of here early Tuesday after a heart attack.
Surviving are two sisters. Elizabeth H. and Martha J.. both at
home: a brother, William G. Jones, of
Los Angeles
.
Calif.
; three nieces, Mrs. T. G. Edwards and Miss Mary Margaret Jones,
both of Gomer, Mrs. A. A. Hoyer of Beaverdam.
Wis.
: and two nephews, Walter M. and John L. Jones. both of
Kansas City
. Mo. Funeral arrangements are
incomplete pending word from relatives. Rev. C. J. Bradbury will
be in charge of services, with burial in Gomer cemetery.

Dated: Tuesday Sept. 5, 1950
3 dead and 23 Injured in Area Holiday Mishaps. It reports of auto
accidents and other area incidents of the Labor day weekend in the
Lima area.
Sylvia Bell Rockhill Joseph
Dead are Mrs. Sylvia Joseph 61 Route 2.
Mrs Joseph died at the Memorial Hospital.
The accident which claimed the life of Mrs. Joseph
occurred at 12:45 p. m. Sunday on Route 25 ( Findlay Road )one
mile northeast of Lima at the driveway of the Lima Electric Motor
Co. Mrs. Joseph was a passenger in a car driven by her son Merle
E. Joseph 36. Route 2. State highway patrolmen report Joseph was
traveling east and had started to turn into the driveway of the
Lima Electric Motor Co.( Walter Joseph her husband worked there)
when his car was struck by an automobile driven by Ronald B.
Conway, 18 Route 5, who was traveling west. The impact caused both
cars to leave the highway.
Katheleen Ann Lentz 9 and her sister Linda 6 of 306 E.
O' Conner Ave. were passengers in the Joseph car. Kathleen
suffered a deep cut on the nose and bruises on the forehead.
Linda received a bruise on the left arm.
Driver of the Joseph car received severe lacerations on
the scalp and multiple cuts and bruises on both arms and body. His
condition was reported fair. The Lentz sisters were released after
treatment at the hospital. Hospital attaches reported Mrs. Joseph
received a fractured skull, compound fracture of the left arm, and
lacerations on the face, body and legs. She died two hours after
being admitted to the hospital. The injured were taken to the
hospital in a Davis-Miller and Son ambulance.
Mrs. Joseph is survived by her husband Walter H. Joseph
; two sons Charles L. Bluffton, Merle E. at home, two daughters
Mrs. Edwin Maag, Columbus Grove, and
Mrs. Edwin Lentz 806 E. O' Conner Ave; and 12 grandchildren .
Services will be at 2:00p.m. Wednesday at the Chiles and Son
Funeral Home with the Rev. Willard Thomas officiating.
Burial will be in the Blue Lick Cemetery.

Walter M. Joseph
Walter M. Joseph 62, of 536 E. Franklin St. died at 11.05 p.m.
Monday in his home. He had been ill eight weeks. Born 22 August
1899 in Allen County. Mr. Joseph
was a night watchman for Lima Electric Motor Co. Findlay Road.
Surviving are two sons Charles L. Bluffton and Merle at home; two
daughters Mrs. Edwin Maag , Columbus
Grove, and Mrs. Edwin Lentz 306 E. Conners Ave.; his mother Mrs.
Lydia Joseph also of 534 Franklin St.; four brothers Cloyd,
Lafayette, Harry Route 5, Earl 634 Catnips Ave
and Ralph Route5; three sisters Mrs. Charles M. Cook, Rimer, Mrs.
O.K. Straton 1006 N. West St., and Mrs. Voyt Lackey, Cario; 12
grandchildren and one great-grandchild.
Services will be held in the Sugar Creek Church of the Brethren,
of which he was a member, at 2:00p.m. Thursday. The Rev. Willard
Thomas and Rev. Samuel Keller will officiate
Burial will be in Blue Lick Cemetery. The body will remain in
Chiles and Sons Funeral Home until time of the services.

Matthew
Jones
CRIDERSV1LLE,
Jan. 4 — Matthew Jones, 39, of Lima Route 1, died at 7 a. m.
Thursday of a heart attack at his home, one mile north of
Cridersvllle, after an ex-
tended illness. He is survived by his wife, Ruth; one
daughter, Patricia, at home. The body will remain at the Umbaugh
and Baliff funeral home pending completion of funeral
arrangements. Rev. J. E. Turner, Cridersville pastor, will
conduct services and burial will be in Shawnee
cemetery.

Oran Johnson
Spencerville- Oran Johnson, 49, died at 2 a.m. Friday at the
Lima District Tuberculosis hospital. Surviving are a widow; two
brothers, Joseph, of Venedocia and Clem Johnson, of
Spencerville. Funeral services will be held at 2:30 p.m. Sunday
at the First Baptist church. The Rev. Mr. Woods will officiate.
Burial will be in Spencerville cemetery. Arrangements are in
charge of the C. B. Miller funeral home. |
