  GEORGE OGLEVEE, emigrated from the North of Ireland and settled in East Nottingham township, Chester county, Penn.  (now Cecil county, Md.) before 1722 (probably a son or brother of John Oglevee, who died in Cecil county, January, 1744, leaving a wife, Rachel, and children, James, Dorcas, and Jean); d. 1751-53; m. Sarah ____; d. May 1753; had issue: John, Sarah, Jean, Margaret (m. ____ Boggs), and Violet (m. ____ Porter, and had two sons, James and John); his son, grandson, or nephew, John Oglevee, died in Cecil county, January, 1797, leaving children, John, Joseph, Mary, Sarah, Margaret, and Anne, of whom:
     I. John, removed from Cecil county, Maryland, to Fayette county, Penn., and thence, soon after 1800, to Harrison county, Ohio, and settled on Bogg's Fork of Stillwater Creek, where he d. 1815; served in the War of 1812; m. Mrs. Agnes Passmore Patterson, b. 1771-72; d. Aug. 11, 1853 (she had issue by her first husband, ____ Patterson:  1. Jane, m. Adam Dunlap, and settled in Harrison county;  2. Mary, m. Robert Dunlap, and settled in Harrison county); John and Agnes Oglevee had issue:  1. Elizabeth, b. 1804; d. Dec. 5, Nancy;  6. Baruch.
     II. Joseph, b. in Cecil county, Md., 1765; d. in Franklin township, Fayette county, Penn., Sept. 14, 1835; m. Ann Barricklow, b. 1768; d. Oct. 16, 1845; daughter of Conrad and Sarah Farrington Barricklow (see Barricklow Family); had issue: 1. Jesse, b. 1804; d. Jan. 26, 1876; m. 1826, Elizabeth Galley, b. 1807; d. 1858; daughter of Philip Galley (had issue:  i. Joseph, b. June 2, 1827; m. 1850, Rebecca Stoner; settled at East Liberty, Dunbar township, Fayette county; ii. John; iii. Philip); 2. John; 3. Farrington.
     III. Margaret, b. 1776; d. May 25, 1851; m. James Porter, son of John Porter, of Pennsylvania; settled in Cadiz township, Harrison county; had issue:  1. Joseph;  2. Elizabeth;  3. John; 4. Ann;  5. James, b. Aug. 29, 1818; d. unm., Sept. 4, 1898;  6. Augustus, b. Feb. 18, 1822; d. unm., Mar. 25, 1893.
