ALEXANDER R. HARRIS
- is a farmer and stone dealer, and was born Nov.
12, 1835, in Licking county, Ohio. His
parents, Samuel and Mary E. (Bateson) Harris,
came to the county in 1838. His wife, Nancy
J., was born in this county Apr. 26, 1845, and
her parents, Lewis N. and Mary Ann (Henderson)
Crawfis, came to this county in 1832. They
were married in this county Oct. 14, 1862.
Eight children have been born to them; Samuel L.,
Sept. 25, 1863; Edson G. H., Sept. 17, 1865;
Ada E., Mar. 29, 1868; Annie C., Jan.
3, 1870; Blanche M., Aug. 3, 1872; Laura
D., Aug. 15, 1875; John A. E.,
deceased, and March P. (twins), Mar. 1,
1878.

MRS. ANN HARRIS -
whose husband, Thomas Harris, died July 13,
1866, was the daughter of Benjamin and Christina
(Warner) Wheeler, and was born in Licking county
Nov. 21, 1818. He was a son of John and
Cassandra (Hughes) Harris was also born in
Licking county, Nov. 20, 1821. They were
married in that county Apr. 23, 1846, and settled in
this county in 1849. They have had eight
children, only four of whom are living: Mary F,
born Jan. 23, 1847; Elizabeth A., Apr. 5,
1848, died June 4, 1849; Sylvester A.,
Mar. 18, 1850; William W., Feb. 19, 1852,
resides in Hancock county; George M., Mar.
24, 1858, died Sept. 8, 1858; James E.,
June 21, 1860, died Jan. 14, 1867. Her
husband was a farmer and mechanic. Her
grandfather was in the Revolutionary war.

PERRY W. HARRIS -
whose parents were Joshua and Elizabeth (Siler)
Harris, was born in Licking county, Ohio, Oct.
29, 1821, and settled in this county in 1854.
His wife, Mary Ann, daughter of Joseph and
Elizabeth (Ellison) Pound, was born in Orange
county, New York, Apr. 16, 1824. They were
married in Licking county Nov. 14, 1844, and have
had seven children: George W., Aug. 3
1845, died Apr. 9, 1869; Adaline C.,
June 7, 1847; Isaac P., July 29 1849; resides
in this township; Emily E. Jan. 7, 1855,
died Jan. 15, 1879; Isabella, Aug. 15,
1857; Joseph, Oct. 2, 1860; Reece F.,
Feb. 24, 1866. He ha held the office of
township assessor two years. Occupation,
farming.

S. P. HARRIS - was
born in this county in 1833. His parents,
W. H. and Margaret M. (Martin) Harris, settled
in this county in 1823. His wife, Minna,
whose parents, Cornelius and Catharine (Haverhals)
Kortier came to this county in 1848, was born in
Holland in 1835. They were married in this
county in 1856. They have seven children:
Catherine, born Jan. 3, 1858; Cornelia M.,
Jan. 3, 1860; Arthur, Oct. 20, 1861; Peter,
Sept. 24, 1863; Logan, Mar. 9, 1866;
Ransford, Dec. 26, 1868; Mary June 14,
1871. His grandfather was in the war of 1812,
and he served three years in the war of the
Rebellion. Occupation farming. Address,
Fort Jennings, Ohio.

SCOTT HARRIS - was
born and married, as was also his wife, in Allen
county. He was son of John and Isabelle
Harris, and was born July 24, 1845. His
wife was Margaret A. States, daughter of
Daniel States and Jane Jennings, and was born
Feb. 3, 1841. They were married Mar. 5, 1868,
and have had six children, namely: Cora E.,
born July 5, 1869, died Nov. 1, 1870;
Daniel F., Sept. 3, 1870; Isabelle J.,
Oct. 9, 1871; Huldah E., Sept. 4, 1873;
Louella M., Nov. 26, 1874; Olive B.
Feb 11, 1877. Mr. Harris had one
brother who served five months in the war of the
Rebellion. Business, livery and farming.

STACY HARRIS - son
of Johnand Cassandra (Hughes) Harris, was
born in Licking county July 6, 1818, and came to
this county in 1846. His wife, Elizabeth,
daughter of Leonard Nicely, was born in
Pennsylvania Apr. 5, 1824. They were married
in Licking county, Sept. 7, 1843. Four
children made up the family circle: Henry,
born July 23, 1844, resides in Blanchard township;
Harvey, July 24, 1841, deceased;
Samuel L., May 30, 1854, resides in Crawford
county, Ohio; Sarah E. June 28, 1860.
His father, John Harris, served as a private
in the Revolutionary war about eight months.
His son, Henry Harris, was in the war of the
Rebellion. Occupation, farming.

THADDEUS HARRIS
- was born in Jennings Township, Putnam county,
Ohio, in 1843. His parents, William H. and
Margaret M. (Martin) Harris, came to the county
in 1823. He was married in this county in
1876. His wife, Eliza, daughter of
Aaron and Lavina Jane (Hoffman) Smith, was born
in 1837, in Indiana. Her grandfather, Henry
Hoffman, served in the Revolutionary war, and
his grandfather in the war of 1812. Two of her
cousins were killed in the war of the Rebellion.
He is a farmer.
Post-office, Fort Jennings.
